The Population Explosion Crisis in Egypt: Roots and Solutions in Light of Islamic Sharia

About this book

Egypt's population growth is often reduced to a single statistic, but Sinai Mahmoud approaches it as a network of economic, educational, health, cultural, and ethical questions. The book considers household decisions alongside public policy, asking how Islamic legal principles can inform responsible family life without ignoring social reality or individual dignity. It reviews the roots of the crisis, the pressure placed on services and development, and the limitations of solutions built only on coercion or publicity. By bringing demographic analysis into conversation with religious reasoning, the study argues for awareness, justice, women's education, and institutional coordination as foundations for a humane and durable response.
