Whispers of the Ribs

About this book

Whispers of the Ribs follows the inner passage from fracture to renewal. Sosan Abdo Ahmed Alkhadher shapes the collection around three emotional stations: the pain of a lost shadow and the long wandering through the self; an ecstasy of love expansive enough to reach beyond earthly limits; and, finally, the soul's arrival at a calmer certainty. Classical eloquence meets a contemporary pulse as the poems give voice to feelings that have remained too heavy to carry and too intimate to speak. Sorrow is never treated as spectacle. It is set beside hope, loneliness beside the desire for human shelter, and silence beside the possibility of expression. The result is a spiritually attentive collection for readers willing to enter its depths and consider how language can gather the pieces life has scattered.
