Life and work
About Franz Kafka
He studied law and worked in insurance while writing stories, novels, diaries and letters. His literary world is associated with alienation, anxiety and the individual’s encounter with elusive authorities and incomprehensible situations. His best-known works include The Metamorphosis, The Trial and The Castle, and a substantial part of his output appeared after his death. Investigations of a Dog, included in the catalogue, belongs to his later fiction, giving the search for knowledge an unusual narrative voice that multiplies rather than resolves questions.
