The Orphan

This page features Loss, following Halima after her father's death and her move from a Shawia village to the city during the era of French colonial rule and independence. El-Daouia El-Nasiri explores orphanhood, restrictive traditions, and the search for security through a child's experience of deprivation, patience, and faith.
