The Genius of Omar: Dar Qasas Edition

About this book

Abbas Mahmoud Al-Aqqad investigates the distinctive balance at the heart of Umar ibn al-Khattab: formidable authority joined to compassion, firmness joined to consultation, and independence of judgment joined to submission before truth. This is not a simple record of conquests or administration. It is a psychological and philosophical study of how a single character became a measure of public justice. Al-Aqqad follows Umar's passage from the hardness of pre-Islamic life to the disciplined vision of the caliphate, examining intuition, responsibility, and insight into human nature. The portrait remains relevant as a reflection on leadership that builds institutions through honesty, accountability, and mercy.
