Memoirs of a Teacher

About this book

From the warm soil of Alkou in Morocco's Anti-Atlas to Marrakesh, Casablanca, and the classroom, Abdelrahman Al-Rami retraces a life shaped by early orphanhood, difficult travel, displacement within his own country, and an unwavering will to build stability. Dust, Quran books, ageing buses, old school corridors, and the turns of mountain roads give the memoir its physical texture. The author writes with simplicity and emotional depth about the struggle to form an identity under harsh conditions, showing how fracture can become a bridge toward maturity. Teaching is not merely his profession but the culmination of lessons first endured in life. These recollections honour the lasting trace a teacher plants in others and affirm that a life is measured less by elapsed years than by what it leaves in human souls.
