Life and work
About Stefan Zweig
He lived in Salzburg from 1919 to 1934, a particularly productive period during which his books reached readers in many languages. Interested in psychological motives and decisive moments in individual lives, he also advocated cultural exchange and peace in Europe. His books include Amok, Confusion and biographies of Joseph Fouché and Marie Antoinette. Letter from an Unknown Woman, featured in this catalogue, represents his fiction’s attention to memory, emotion and the inner lives of its characters.
