The Philosophy of History

About this book

Gustave Le Bon examines the psychological forces he sees beneath the rise and fall of nations, questioning how much history is shaped by conscious choice. He explores the influence of the inherited unconscious, political and religious beliefs, and collective illusions on the actions of crowds. The book considers why revolutions may reproduce the systems they oppose and how the past constrains human freedom in the present. This is an Arabic-language edition translated by Adel Zuaiter.
